Shorty Dow and his wife, Charlotte, hold a significant place in the history of our resort. In 1964, Shorty took on the role of caretaker of the land that we now call Bandon Dunes Golf Resort, often introducing&nbsp;himself as the \u201cmayor, governor, and sheriff\u201d of this special property. When Mike Keiser purchased the land and began the development of Bandon Dunes,&nbsp;Shorty's wife&nbsp;Charlotte opened their home to construction crews and all those who visited, becoming the hospitality center for operations. Charlotte's name is also honored as our new moniker for the 9-hole par-3 golf course at the Practice Center.
